THE VELVET ROPE HOTEL IN PALM SPRINGS IS FOR SALE

The Velvet Rope old Hollywood theme hotel is for sale in Palm Springs. Check out the sale link. 

It features 9 rooms dedicated to celebrities, musicians, and pop culture mostly of the golden age of Hollywood but with some slight convoluted confusion and misleading titles. To address this confusion let's look at The Presidential Suite which seems to focus on President Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe's affair with a portrait of his wife Jackie observing. It is the only room with a full kitchen. 

The colors of the room are all wrong for a Presidential suite 

so I would redo this room and use actor Robert Vaughn 

and his girlfriend (First Lady) Joyce Jameson 

who was always typecast as the "dumb blonde like Marilyn" but who had a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts from UCLA, highly intelligent, and well read. Look how Joyce nails this scene in the film THE APARTMENT as the Temu knockoff version of Marilyn Monroe, Joyce had Marilyn's voice down perfectly and mannerisms she used in various movies. Acting perfection!

Now Robert Vaughn actually had an exact copy of the Oval Office in his house and he played the President in two movies. One movie as Roosevelt and the other as Truman. He was a friend of President Kennedy and Vaughn had a secret desire and fetish to be President, that is why he had the replica of the oval office in his house. His companion was actress Joyce Jameson and that is why I would change the Presidential Suite honoring them instead of the old tired disrespectful Kennedy and Monroe affair and would decorate the room like the Oval Office with the only exception instead of a desk, a Presidential looking Box bed of England with the Presidential seal on it. When the doors are opened on the box bed you hear the tune "Hail to the Chief" playing.

Very Presidential!!! Now the next room to examine is the PLAYBOY room. 

You can see that a change is already needed here. they should have a glass fronted metal container with a rubber axe below the framed Playboy covers on the wall and then a sign above it instructing to break in case of emergency if the honeymoon is not going well so the husband can get to those magazines framed up on the wall. Got to love that Zebra carpet in the sitting area! They should add a stripper pole for amusement. You can imagine some "redneck" groom yelling out, "Shake that money maker!" or "If you're selling, I'm buying" or this romantic line, "It's Miller Time!", that's what Miller says when he lays $50.00 dollars on the nightstand........let me clarify it's what a "redneck" would shout out during a pole dance I reckon....

Now we move on to the room featuring THE RAT PACK SUITE 

It looks pretty cool and the rat pack bathroom below

and the Rat Pack Kitchen 

and living room 

There are also rooms dedicated to Elvis, Desi and Lucy Arnez, Studio 54, Liberace, Elizabeth Taylor etc. The hotel has a small bar to socialize in that looks cool.

Needless to say, this theme hotel is for sale. The Velvet Rope for sale The price seems steep at 5.5 million for just 9 rooms but that will be up to the buyer. Kind of a one of a kind place in Palm Springs.
