Miami Arizona Hotel/Restaurant idea
The Miami Mercantile and YMCA for sale . Yes folks this is a great opportunity for the Miami, Arizona community to bring a boutique resort hotel to their town. In the great states of Oregon and Washington there is a company that specializes in obtaining old abandoned schools, saloons, hotels, lodges, etc and revitalizing them into Historic Hotels. For Example: McMenamins Historic Hotels Here is a photo of the Kalama Harbor Lodge located in Kalama, Washington
More info on this hotel here: Kalama Harbor Lodge and then another unique lodge is the one in Gearhart, Oregon located on the Oregon Coast. Gearhart Hotel and so forth. Many of these McMenamin hotels have secret rooms which are cool:
Anyhow this revitalization could be done in Miami, Arizona to the former mercantile and YMCA building. It would be cool to see this building transformed back to life. Imagine the swimming pool being revitalized with the murals repainted or restored of the old local and historic church.
A close up of the mural. and you could put in a nice dining room as well to replace this old looking dining area. The rooms above could be converted in private hotel rooms.
There is a lot of work to be done on these rooms in Miami, and the repairs to this dilapidated building are many but it could be fixed up and become an economic engine for the community. They could install a movie theater or have the old basketball court restored and also make it so they have pickle ball and racquet ball courts perhaps.
The building in Miami has a lot of architectural style too it and would be terrific to restore as a showpiece for the Miami, Az Community. Now MeMenamins is only in Oregon and Washington so perhaps there is another company that specializes in this kind of construction and restoration work for the Southwest. It would be cool to restore and make it into a boutique hotel resort. To paraphrase Lawrence of Arabia in the movie, "time for Miami, Arizona to be great again". The first step is to restore this building in this historic town.
