The idea this month is to suggest some sort of crowdfunding idea to save the Amargosa Opera House and Hotel. Reading the Trip Advisor reviews I think it needs to have some repairs and restoration done for it. It is a piece of unique desert history and also human history in regards to the former owner: Marta Becket.
With freshly remodeled rooms that are comfortable and functional it will keep the tourists happy to see this place. The inside of the Opera House is a masterpiece of its own and was painted by Marta Becket herself.
This would be a worthwhile restoration project and would insure the continued memory of Marta Becket who was a pioneer in bringing art and dance to the desert. Here is an interesting video on her.
